Firefighters quickly knocked down a house fire in South Los Angeles.
The blaze at 524 E. 33rd St. was reported at 9:58 p.m. Sunday, according to Los Angeles Fore Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.
The department dispatched 44 firefighters to extinguish the flames inside the 1,986-square foot one-story home, Humphrey said.
The flames were knocked down in 17 minutes.
Six people were being evaluated by fire department paramedics for possible smoke exposure.
