After tabloid sites connected the dots, NBC’s “Today” show Tuesday is expected to close the circle with Charlie Sheen — expected to make a “personal announcement” that he’s been diagnosed as HIV positive.

“Sheen has not made any comment about the rumors swirling, and while the National Enquirer and gossip sites such as TMZ are saying its true, it doesn’t seem that any major news outlets have been able to confirm the rumors yet,” said Playboy.

NBC announced Monday that Matt Lauer would interview Sheen, who turned 50 in September, and TMZ reported that the actor with a history of womanizing would reveal he has the AIDS-causing virus.

Social media was mixed between snark and sympathy.
