A 31-year-old woman who was killed Monday morning when she was struck by a single-vehicle on the Escondido (215) Freeway in Perris has been identified.
The crash was reported about 3 a.m. Monday on the southbound 215 north of Nuevo Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A witness said a man was asking for help because his wife was hit as she ran into the roadway.
Christanne Banks, of Hemet, was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.
The southbound lanes of I-215 were temporarily closed.
