The Santa Ana Police Department will conduct a driving under the influence/driver’s license operation Saturday evening, authorities said.
The checkpoint will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday and conclude at 1 a.m. Sunday at an undisclosed location in Santa Ana, the police department said.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving-related crashes.
“Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk,” Santa Ana Police Commander Joe Marty said. “Any prevention measures that reduce the number of impaired drivers on our roads significantly improve traffic safety.”
