Two adults on bicycles and three children being pulled in bike trailers were injured Sunday evening by a hit-and-run driver who was caught and arrested.

The two adults were riding with the children in tow just after 7:30 p.m. Sunday on Haster Street at Twin Tree Lane when they were struck by a car, and the driver fled the scene, Garden Grove police Sgt. Nick Jensen told City News Service. A Google search showed the neighborhood was a mix of single-family homes and apartments near the Garden Grove (22) Freeway.

Jensen said it is not dark at 7:30 p.m. during the summer.

A witness saw the car leave the scene and followed it until police could stop the vehicle and arrest the man behind the wheel, he said.

One adult and two children were rushed to hospitals in critical condition, he said. One adult and one child were hospitalized with stable vital signs. The ages and genders of the victims were not immediately available.
