Authorities appealed for the public’s help Monday to find the hit-and-run motorist involved in the death of a bicyclist in the South Los Angeles area in October.
Oscar Guardado, 42, was struck about 9:55 p.m. Oct. 27 on Normandie Avenue near 23rd Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
“The driver of the vehicle fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim in violation of the law,” an LAPD statement said.
At a Monday morning news conference at the LAPD South Traffic Division, Guardado’s daughter asked for anyone with information to come forward.
“I’m just looking for justice for my dad, because whoever did cause the accident did leave three kids behind,” Angeles Guardado told reporters. “I just want to say, please come clean. Or if anybody knows whoever caused the accident, please let us know.
“… Please I just want to know what exactly happened and who was responsible for his death. Because it does hurt us three kids knowing that we don’t have our own father to see us graduate or anything like that.”
Anyone with information on the case was urged to call the LAPD South Traffic Division at 323-421-2500 or 323-421-2577. Tips may also be submitted via www.lacrimestoppers.org.
