Arraignment was postponed Wednesday to next month for a 53- year-old man charged with the 1988 shooting death of a man in Pasadena.
Albert Ahmad Clark is now scheduled to be arraigned Jan. 14 on a murder charge stemming from the Feb. 27, 1988, shooting of 39-year-old Leroy Galloway.
Galloway was shot multiple times near Lake Avenue and Orange Grove Boulevard and was taken to a hospital, where he died later.
Witnesses said they saw a suspect fleeing the area, and, based in part on the descriptions they provided, investigators eventually arrested Clark. But there was insufficient evidence to prosecute him because of the “limitations of forensic science at the time,” police said.
Galloway’s relatives approached Pasadena police in 2013 and asked them to review the case. Investigators were able to retrieve evidence that was analyzed and that allegedly implicates Clark in the killing, police said.
Authorities have not given a possible motive for the crime.
Clark was arrested Dec. 7 in Los Angeles and remains jailed in lieu of $2 million bail.
