A 40-year-old woman was extricated from a hotel room in Chatsworth Sunday and hospitalized for smoke inhalation after a small fire.
Smoke was reported emanating from the room at The Holiday Inn at 21340 W. Devonshire St. around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Arriving units entered the hotel room to find a well-involved fire confined to the couch, which activated fire sprinklers.
Sprinkler activation held the fire in check, preventing it from further spread, according to the LAFD.
No other injuries or property damage was reported.
An update on the condition of the patient was unavailable.
