Firefighters have reached 50% containment for a 46-acre grass fire in the community of Ordway, north of Moreno Valley, authorities said Sunday.
“Firefighters worked hard throughout the night strengthening containment lines and extinguishing hot spots,” the Riverside County Fire Department reported. “Crews will continue to improve control lines mop-up throughout the day. No injuries reported.”
The fire was reported at 5 p.m. Saturday at Live Oak Canyon and San Timoteo roads. Resources were summoned to fight the flames from the ground and air.
There were no immediate threats to structures.
