A pedestrian who was fatally struck while walking in a roadway in Desert Hot Springs was identified Friday as a resident of the city.
Marc Nolasco, 51, was fatally injured around 12:15 a.m. Thursday in the area of Pierson Boulevard and Western Avenue, according to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department.
After the vehicle hit him, the driver attempted to provide aid and called the police. Upon arrival, officers found the victim in the roadway, and the driver cooperated with investigators.
Nolasco was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Alcohol and driving actions do not appear to be factors in the collision,” the department said.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
