A Palm Desert clothing store will host a fundraising event next month to benefit a nonprofit that rescues and rehabilitates German Shepherd dogs.
The event will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 5 at the Ralph Lauren store at The Shops on El Paseo, 73-080 El Paseo.
A portion of sales from Feb. 5 through Feb. 7 will be donated to German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County, which assists injured, abandoned and neglected dogs throughout Southern California and the Coachella Valley.
“We’re grateful for the support from the Palm Desert team and the opportunity to showcase the important work our organization does,” Maria Dales, founder of the nonprofit, said in a statement. “Partnering with the store and sharing our mission with the community is incredibly meaningful.”
Guests attending the Feb. 5 event will be offered hors d’oeuvres from Porta Vina, champagne and giveaways, organizers said. A sketch artist will also be on hand to create pet portraits from guest-provided photos, and Kira, a K-9 ambassador, will greet attendees.
Counselors from the organization will be available for anyone wanting to consider adoption.
“This collaboration is about coming together as a community and making a difference,” General Manager of Ralph Lauren at El Paseo Lisa Kaufman said in a statement. “It’s an opportunity for guests to enjoy a beautiful evening while supporting rescue dogs who might otherwise miss the care and second chance they deserve.”
