An unspecified threat directed toward a USC employee in the Bovard Administration Building prompted an increased security presence Thursday.

The threat was reported shortly after 2:05 p.m., according to an alert message sent to the USC community.

The Daily Trojan, USC’s student newspaper, reported that officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Southwest Division responded to the University Park Campus at about 12:45 p.m. and met with the USC Department of Public Safety.

The FBI was also alerted about the threat, according to the paper.
