A person was killed during a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning in downtown Los Angeles, authorities said.

The crash occurred in the area of Figueroa and Third streets, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Paramedics and firefighters were dispatched to the scene at 2:03 a.m. Saturday, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.

“The person was transported to the hospital and later was pronounced deceased,” according to a police statement. “Central Traffic Division is investigating. Drugs and/or alcohol may have been a factor.”
