A woman is suing a Santa Clarita nail salon, alleging a botched pedicure caused an infection requiring the removal of the small toe on her left foot.
Sonia Algara filed the negligence suit Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court against Dynasty Nails. She is seeking unspecified damages.
A man who answered the phone at the salon Tuesday said the manager may have a comment later.
According to the lawsuit, Algara went to the salon on Bouquet Canyon Road for a pedicure on March 15, 2015. During the process, an employee used a pair of scissors to cut in between the plaintiff’s fourth and fifth toe on her left foot, the suit states.
“The incision caused severe pain and infection and eventually led to the pinky toe needing to be amputated,” according to the lawsuit.
Algara has incurred medical and rehabilitation costs and also suffered mental anguish and emotional distress, according to her court papers.
