A person was evaluated and released for smoke inhalation at a second-alarm fire in Santa Ana that burned through the roof of a metal building used by a business that manufactures aerospace products from aluminum, authorities said Saturday.
Firefighters were dispatched at 6:55 p.m. Friday to the 3200 block of West Central Avenue, the Orange County Fire Authority reported.
“Our crews launched a coordinated fire attack and brought the fire under control swiftly, preventing it from spreading to an adjacent building,” according to a news statement. “One individual was evaluated for smoke inhalation, but did not require hospital transport.”
The fire wrought $6.5 million worth of damage to the structure and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
