Deputies in the Canyon Country area of Santa Clarita Friday were searching for a gunman who fired multiple shots from a vehicle at a victim in what authorities believe was a gang-related, drive-by shooting.
The shooting was reported by a 911 caller at 10 p.m. and deputies responded Thursday to the 19300 block of Soledad Canyon Road and Whites Canyon Road regarding a shots fired call, a Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station watch commander told City News Service.
The suspect’s black sedan drove away from the scene after shooting at the victim, who was not injured.
Deputies recovered at least six shell casings after the shooting, the watch commander said. The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation.
We need more surveillance cameras and CCTVs in Santa Clarita. I am very willing to my privacy at some degree for safety of the community. This is very concerning brazen act.
