Police were investigating an incident in Long Beach where officers located evidence of a shooting, yet both the victim and the suspect left the scene prior to their arrival, authorities said Sunday.
Officers were dispatched at about 11:50 p.m. Saturday to a report of shots heard in the 1400 block of Gaviota Avenue, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
“Upon arrival, officers located evidence indicating a shooting occurred,” according to a police statement. “The suspect and victim fled the scene prior to officer’s arrival. No injuries were reported. The suspect and motive for the shooting are under investigation.”
No further information was immediately available.
