One person was rushed to a hospital with critical injuries Friday evening after multiple vehicles caught fire in the parking structure of a Wilmington apartment building, and initial reports suggest fireworks were at the scene, authorities said.
The fire was reported at about 8:30 p.m. Friday at 1104 W. Pacific Coast Highway, just east of the Harbor (110) Freeway, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The injured victim was described as a male of unknown age.
LAFD arson units were investigating the cause of the fire.
No further official information was provided, but ABC7 reported that an unknown number of people were being evacuated after authorities found a large amount of fireworks at the scene.
