A 19-year-old man was under arrest Saturday on suspicion of selling various illicit substances to juveniles throughout the Coachella Valley, authorities announced.

Deputies opened an investigation into Manuel Guerra Meza of Coachella on May 15, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Meza was located Friday driving in the area of Dinah Shore Drive and Date Palm Drive in Cathedral City, and was taken into custody, authorities said.

A search warrant was subsequently served in the 86000 block of Calle Geranio in Coachella where deputies allegedly found and seized several marijuana vape pens, psychedelic mushrooms, approximately $25,000 and a firearm with an altered serial number.

Meza was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center on suspicion of furnishing marijuana to a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, possession of a firearm with an altered serial number and willful harm to a child.

He was expected to appear in court on Wednesday at the Indio Larson Justice Center.

Anyone with additional information about the case was encouraged to contact deputy Olivares at 760-863-8990.
