Firefighters stopped the progress of a vegetation fire in the Antelope Acres area near Lancaster Monday at approximately 360 acres.
Crews responded around 4:10 p.m. Monday near West 90th Street West and West Avenue H to reports of a rapidly growing brush fire that initially burned 30 acres, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
No evacuation orders or warnings had been issued as of 4:30 p.m., although crews reported possible threats to nearby structures.
About 20 minutes later, the fire had grown to 300 acres, prompting evacuation warnings for the surrounding area, a Los Angeles County Fire Department spokeswoman told City News Service.
The fire’s progress was stopped at 6:09 p.m. and all evacuation warnings have been downgraded to advisories, the Los Angeles County Fire Department announced.
The evacuation advisories were lifted as of 6:15 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Office of Emergency Management
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
