A 60-year-old convicted vandal was charged Tuesday with vandalizing Christ Cathedral.
Ferdinand Bernal Ramos was charged with a count of vandalism and two counts of vandalizing religious property, all felonies. He pleaded not guilty in the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana and was ordered to return to court Aug. 12 for a pretrial hearing in the West Justice Center in Westminster.
Ramos is accused of vandalizing Christ Cathedral in Garden Grove on July 18 and again on July 25, according to the criminal complaint.
Ramos was charged in February with misdemeanor battery in a separate case.
Ramos pleaded guilty Dec. 8 to vandalizing a Toyota dealer and was sentenced to a month in jail and placed on two years of probation, but he violated probation and was sentenced to another 60 days in jail on Dec. 30. Ramos was sentenced to another 90 days in jail Feb. 19 for a probation violation and another 180 days behind bars April 28.
According to a probation violation petition, Ramos tested positive for using methamphetamine and failed to report to probation as required.
Ramos pleaded guilty July 26, 2024, to a felony count of leading police on a chase and misdemeanor counts of hit and run with property damage and driving on a suspended license.
