A bomb threat prompted an evacuation and search at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena Friday, and authorities claimed the call came from an extremist group known to law enforcement.
The call was received about 5:50 a.m. Friday, leading to a swift police and emergency personnel response.
The hospital was secured by the Pasadena Police Department, city spokeswoman Lisa Derderian said.
Officers and firefighters along with bomb-sniffing dogs remained at the scene for hours working to clear the building, Derderian said.
No details about the group believed responsible were immediately released.
