Police sought the public’s assistance Monday in identifying a driver involved in the hit-and-run death of a pedestrian in Long Beach.
The man was struck around 7:25 p.m. Sept. 13 near while walking eastbound across Pacific Avenue — outside of a marked crosswalk — just north of Pacific Coast Highway, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Police said they are searching for the driver of a black sedan with tinted windows and chrome trim that was being driven north on Pacific when it struck the man. The driver failed to stop, turning left onto 19th Street, police said.
Authorities said earlier this month that the man — whose name was not released — was struck by a total of three vehicles — first a white SUV, then the sedan, then a 2021 Jaguar. The Jaguar driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, police said.
It was unclear if investigators still believe the man was initially struck by an SUV prior to the sedan.
He died at a hospital.
