A man was fatally struck by a vehicle on the Golden State (5) Freeway in Santa Clarita, the California Highway Patrol officer reported early Monday.
The man was killed on the northbound freeway at Rye Canyon Road around 11:50 p.m. Sunday, said CHP Officer Monica Posada.
A witness told the CHP that a man wearing a blue shirt and white shorts approached a vehicle and punched a window, Posada said. Then he was lying on the freeway.
There was no indication the incident was a hit and run, she said.
Lanes 1 and 2 of the northbound Golden State Freeway were closed at Rye Canyon Road for the investigation, she said. Vehicles were being taken off the freeway at Valencia Boulevard.
