A female toddler was taken to a hospital from Bonelli Park in San Dimas Tuesday afternoon to treat a possible snake bite, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department inspector.
County paramedics met the girl at a guard shack at Bonelli Park about 1:25 p.m., said Capt. Thomas Richards of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The girl had two puncture marks where she might have been bitten by a snake, but was not exhibiting the swelling normally attached to a snake bite, Richards said.
“She had no real problems other than the pain of the bite,” Richards said. “We don’t know if she was bitten by a snake.”
Snakes are cold blooded and on nice warm days they come out to bask in the sun, Richards said.
Richards suggested people in places like Bonelli Park should stay on paths.
