A man in his late 20s was in custody Friay on suspicion of attempted murder after allegedly slashing his roommate across the stomach in the Westlake area of Los Angeles, authorities said.
“His guts were hanging out when the officers got there,” Los Angeles police Sgt. Melvin Gamble said of the victim, a man in his early 30s.
The assault occurred after a drunken dispute between the roommates in an apartment in the 2500 block of Ocean View Avenue, Gamble said. The assailant fled the apartment and was found nearby at 2:25 a.m., an hour after the assault, he said.
The victim was in stable condition, Gamble said.
