A SWAT team arrested a barricaded man Thursday from a market in an unincorporated area between Pasadena and Arcadia after a roughly five-hour standoff.
The situation began about 11 a.m. in the 3600 block of Colorado Boulevard, according to a lieutenant at the sheriff’s Temple Station.
The man was believed to be armed with a knife, the lieutenant said.
Surrounding homes were evacuated and a SWAT team was summoned, along with crisis negotiators and a mental health evaluation team, according to Deputy Lisa Jansen of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
The man was taken into custody by the Special Weapons Team around 4 p.m., according to the sheriff’s department.
