A homeless man is facing 32 years in state prison after pleading no contest to charges stemming from three separate attacks within a two-week period in Santa Monica, the District Attorney’s Office announced Thursday.

Brian Noah Morgan, 24, pleaded no contest Wednesday to two counts each of attempted murder and second-degree robbery, along with admitting a knife allegation, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

The charges stemmed from attacks between May 14, 2017, and May 26, 2017 — the latter in which a victim was stabbed several times and another person was attacked with a hammer, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

Morgan assaulted another person on May 15, 2017, one day after taking a woman’s wedding ring and some money from a couple who had just returned from their daughter’s wedding and were unloading the gifts in front of the house, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

He was arrested last May 26, 2017, after fleeing from the scene of the final crime, authorities said.

Officers were able to gather information about the vehicle, including the license plate details, and alerted surrounding law enforcement agencies, Santa Monica police said. He was taken into custody after a vehicle stop by El Monte police in the 11200 block of Garvey Avenue, according to police.

He is due back July 6 for sentencing at the Airport Branch Courthouse in Los Angeles.
