Police took a robbery suspect into custody in the West Adams area Monday afternoon after a brief chase.
The man led Los Angeles police on a pursuit on surface streets and briefly on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway before he stopped the vehicle about 1:40 p.m. near 24th Street and Gramercy Place and tried to run off.
His name was not immediately available.
Police searched for an object — possibly a firearm — that the suspect apparently dropped some time during the chase.
