Police Wednesday released surveillance video of armed robbery suspects sought for holdups at two Santa Ana businesses within a 10-minute span on the Fourth of July.
The two suspects, both armed with handguns, robbed M & Toi Cafe at 4702 W. First St. at 7:09 a.m. and Dey’s Doughnuts & Croissants at 630 S. Euclid St. about 10 minutes later, according to Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna, who declined to say how much cash was taken. No injuries were reported.
In the first holdup, one of the suspects entered the cafe, removed a black gun from a bag and pointed the weapon at victims, demanding they put their money in the bag. His accomplice entered the business brandishing a handgun and acting as a lookout.
In the second heist, the same suspect who demanded money at the cafe brandished a gun and instructed the victim to put the money from the cash register into a bag. He complied after the suspect pointed the gun at his head, while the accomplice stayed by the front door and acted as a lookout.
The suspects are described a Latino or Vietnamese men in their 20s, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-10 and weighing about 180 pounds.
Anyone with information on the suspects’ identities or whereabouts should call Detective Duane Greaver at 714-245-8362, or email dgreaver@santa-ana.org. Orange County Crime Stoppers will accept anonymous tips at 855-TIP-OCCS.
