Authorities Thursday identified the second of two pedestrians fatally injured in a hit-and-run crash in the South Los Angeles area by a motorist who remains at large.
The crash occurred about 8:25 p.m. Tuesday near Normandie Avenue and 95th Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Dany Torrez Castaneda, 21, died at a hospital, according to the coroner’s office, which earlier had reported that Felipe De Jesus Ruiz Parra, 47, died at the scene. Their home towns were not known.
The men were hit by a 1990 Mercedes-Benz, and the impact of the crash tore off the vehicle’s license plate, according to the CHP. The vehicle was located a few blocks from the crash site, but the driver was not found.
On Wednesday, investigators released a photo of the suspect, identified as 38-year-old Adolfo Flores, Jr., of Los Angeles, who is wanted on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run.
Anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts was urged to call the CHP West Los Angeles Area office at 310-642-3939, or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
