The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Monday for the 12th consecutive day following a 41-day streak of decreases, increasing 2.3 cents to $3.489.
The average price has increased 35.9 cents over the past 12 days, including 7.1 cents on Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 26.7 cents more than one week ago and 21.7 cents higher than one month ago, but 83.2 cents less than one year ago
The Orange County average price also rose for the 12th consecutive following a 41-day streak of decreases, rising 2 cents to $3.483, 28.2 cents more than one week ago and 25 cents higher than one month ago, but 83.3 cents less than one year ago.
The Orange County average price has risen 39 cents over the past 12 days, including 7.1 cents on Sunday.
The recent increases are the result of reduced supply caused by a partial reduction of production at Chevron’s Richmond refinery in Northern California following flaring on Tuesday, according to Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
