A nine-day streak of increases that pushed the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County to its highest amount since July 26 ended Sunday with a decrease of four-tenths of a cent to $4.012.
The average price rose 19.1 cents during the streak, including three- tenths of a cent on Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. Despite today’s slight decrease, it is 17.5 cents more than one week ago and 84.7 cents higher than one month ago. However, it is 6.8 cents less than one year ago.
A 10-day streak of increases that pushed the Orange County average price to above $4 for the first time since July 24 ended with a decrease of seven-tenths of a cent to $3.996. The average price rose 18.7 cents during the streak, including seven-tenths of a cent on Saturday.
The Orange County average price is 15.5 cents more than one week ago and 85.8 cents higher than one month ago but 7.1 cents less than one year ago.
