The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped 2.1 cents Tuesday to $3.675, decreasing for the 11th consecutive day and 37th time in 40 days.

The average price has dropped 62.7 cents over the past 40 days, including 1 cent on Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The decreases follow a seven-day stretch of increases totaling 75.7 cents that pushed the average price to its highest amount since May 4, 2014.

The average price dropped for 26 consecutive days, had three days of increases totaling 10 cents from Aug. 12-14, then resumed declining on Aug. 15.

The average price is 13.3 cents less than one week ago, 50.3 cents lower than one month ago and 17.6 cents below what it was one year ago.

The Orange County average price dropped 2.2 cents Tuesday to $3.619, also decreasing for the 11th consecutive day and 37th time in 40 days. It has dropped 65.6 cents over the past 40 days, including nine-tenths of a cent on Monday.

The decreases follow a seven-day stretch of increases totaling 77.8 cents that pushed the average price to its highest amount since May 6, 2014.

The Orange County average price dropped for 26 consecutive days, had three consecutive days of increases totaling 10.2 cents from Aug. 12-14, then resumed declining on Aug. 15.

The Orange County average price is 14.2 cents less than one week ago, 53.8 cents lower than one month ago and 19.9 cents below what it was one year ago.
