If you need some Christmas cash, the next Powerball drawing Saturday should be worth about $255 million, although the odds of victory are pretty high.
No giant jackpot ticket was sold for the last drawing this week, although a ticket was sold in Pennsylvania with five numbers. But it missed the Powerball number, and is worth $1 million, the Multi-State Lottery Association, which conducts the game, announced.
The numbers drawn were 16, 38, 55, 63, 67 and the Powerball number was 25. The estimated jackpot was $227 million.
The drawing was the 14th since the last time a ticket with all six numbers was sold.
The odds of matching all five numbers and the Powerball number is 1 in about 293 million, according to the Powerball website. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 24.87.
The Powerball game is played in 44 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands.
