The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire dropped Friday for the 17th consecutive day, decreasing three-tenths of a cent to $2.71.
The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties has dropped 12.2 cents over the past 17 days, including four-tenths of a cent on Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 4.6 cents less than one week ago, 6.1 cents lower than one week ago and 2.2 cents below what it was one year ago.
The 17-day streak of decreases is the longest since a 35-day streak that ended on Aug. 16.
