A husband and wife who reached the rank of major in the United States Air Force will be honored as the Military Heroes of the Game at Monday evening’s Los Angeles Dodgers-St. Louis Cardinals game at Dodger Stadium.

Both Craig Christ and his wife Catherine were commissioned into the Air Force in 2004 and flew KC-135 Stratotanker military aerial refueling aircraft. They were deployed six times to Afghanistan and later served as instructors for initial pilot training on the T-6 and T-1.

Maj. Craig Christ is stationed at Edwards Air Force Base, flying a KC-135. His wife is an admissions liaison officer for the Air Force Academy and flies for American Airlines.

Los Angeles Football Club defender Walker Zimmerman will throw a ceremonial first pitch in connection with LAFC Night. LAFC players will be available for photo opportunities in the Right Field Plaza before the game.

A special event ticket pack, which includes a black T-shirt with the Dodger and LAFC logos, is available at Dodgers.com/LAFC.

LAFC has sold out all 13 of its Major League Soccer games at the 22,000-seat Banc of California Stadium in Exposition Park. Its 12-7-6 record is the best by an MLS expansion team through 25 games since the 1998 Chicago Fire.

LAFC’s ownership group includes two members of the Dodgers ownership group — basketball legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson and entrepreneur Peter Guber. Dodger broadcaster Nomar Garciaparra, chief marketing officer Lon Rosen and chief financial officer Tucker Kain are also members of LAFC’s ownership group.
