Apple announced Thursday it plans to build a $1 billion campus in Austin, Texas, and establish sites in Culver City, San Diego and Seattle.
The company also said in a statement that it also plans to expand in cities across the United States including Pittsburgh, New York and Boulder, Colorado over the next three years, with the potential for additional expansion elsewhere in the U.S. over time.
The announcement caps a year of continued job creation. Apple added 6,000 jobs to its American workforce in 2018 and now employs 90,000 people in all 50 states. Th company said it’s on track to create 20,000 jobs in the U.S. by 2023. In 16 states, Apple Thursday employs over 1,000 people.
