Portions of the Draughtsman restaurant and bar in downtown Palm Springs caught fire Thursday, although the interior was unaffected and no injuries were reported.
It took firefighters less than 10 minutes to knock down the blaze reported about 3 p.m. at 1501 N. Palm Canyon Drive, according to the Palm Springs Fire Department.
Firefighters were able to contain the flames to the dumpster, nearby trees and portions of the exterior and roof of the building by 3:11 p.m., according to Capt. Nathan Gunkel.
No damage was reported inside the building.
Firefighters reported employees inside the business were evacuated.
According to the business’s voicemail, Draughtsman is closed until further notice due to the coronavirus emergency.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
