Road work along a one-mile stretch of Ramon Road in Cathedral City is expected to cause traffic delays next week, officials said Thursday.
Crews will be spreading a new layer of asphalt over existing pavement on Ramon between Landau Boulevard and Date Palm Drive between Monday and Friday.
To accommodate the work, each side of the thoroughfare will drop from three lanes to one for the week.
Businesses will remain open during the work period, officials said.
Motorists were urged to use Dinah Shore Drive instead.
