Firefighters in Huntington Beach extinguished a blaze in a hair salon located in a strip mall Friday morning and kept flames from spreading to other businesses.
Crews responded to Salon Sapphire, 16479 Springdale St., near Heil Avenue, where the incident commander upgraded the fire to a second alarm, according to the Huntington Beach Fire Department, which did not disclose what time the fire was first reported.
Firefighters were able to keep the fire within the salon and away from seven other units in the strip mall, the department said about 4:30 a.m.
The cause of the fire was under investigation and no injuries were immediately reported.
