A person was killed Monday by a train in the North Shore area of Riverside.
The crash near Highway 111 and Bay Drive was reported at 6:17 p.m., according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The pedestrian died at the scene, the department reported. The gender and age of the person was not immediately available, and the person’s name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The crash investigation was being handled by the California Highway Patrol.
