A pedestrian is hospitalized in critical condition Sunday after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Barranca Parkway outside of the crosswalk, according to media reports.
The crash was reported at 1:27 a.m. on the 1600 block of Barranca Parkway where authorities found an adult male down in the westbound lanes, just east of Red Hill Avenue, CountyNewsTV reported.
He was transported to OC Global Medical Center in critical condition.
The driver reportedly remained on scene and was cooperating with investigators.
Drugs or alcohol did not appear to be a factor.
All westbound lanes of Barranca Parkway were closed between Aston Street and Red Hill Avenue during the investigation.
