The number of COVID-positive patients in Riverside County hospitals plateaued at 75 Friday, while no additional virus-related deaths were reported, according to the latest county figures.

Of those patients, 12 were in intensive care, up one from Thursday, according to the Riverside University Health System. The county’s cumulative pandemic death toll remained at 6,445.

The RUHS on Friday also reported 209 new positive COVID tests, bringing the aggregate number of cases recorded in the county to 596,793.

The number of known active virus cases in the county was 2,850 Friday. The active count is derived by subtracting deaths and recoveries from the current total — 596,793. Verified patient recoveries countywide are 587,498.
