The number of COVID-positive patients in Riverside County hospitals has fallen by two to 73, according to the latest state figures out Saturday.
Of those patients, six were in intensive care, down from 12 on Friday.
Those numbers come one day after the Riverside University Health System reported 209 new positive COVID tests and no additional virus-related deaths, bringing the county’s aggregate number of cases to 596,793 and leaving its pandemic death toll at 6,445.
The number of known active virus cases in the county was 2,850 as of Friday. The active count is derived by subtracting deaths and recoveries from the current total — 596,793. Verified patient recoveries countywide are 587,498.
The RUHS does not report COVID data on weekends.
