The horror film “Smile” opened with $22 million to lead all films at the North American box office this weekend, according to industry estimates released Sunday.

The feminist thriller “Don’t Worry Darling” was second with $7.3 million Friday through Sunday, one week after opening in first place with over $19 million, Comscore reported.

“The Woman King” was third with $7 million in its third weekend in theaters in the United States and Canada.

“Bros,” a romantic comedy starring Billy Eichner, opened in fourth place with $4.8 million.

Fifth place went to a re-release of 2009’s “Avatar,” which took in $4.69 million — a figure helped by screenings at IMAX theaters, where tickets are more expensive.

Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases, as estimated by Comscore, were “Ponniyin Selvan: Part One” ($4.1 million), “Barbarian” ($2.8 million), “Bullet Train” ($1.4 million), “DC League of Super-Pets” ($1.3 million) and “Top Gun: Maverick” ($1.2 million).
