A three-vehicle collision that caused an SUV to overturn on the Pomona (60) Freeway in Riverside Friday left at least one person injured and prompted a closure of multiple lanes, jamming rush-hour traffic.

The crash was reported about 4:40 p.m. on the westbound 60 at Rubidoux Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The agency said that two SUVs and a car impacted, causing one of the SUVs to roll, coming to rest on its side.

No other details were available.

Riverside Fire Department crews reached the location a short time later and found all of the occupants out of their vehicles.

CHP officers shut down three of four lanes to give emergency personnel room to work, funneling all westbound traffic into the HOV lane, according to reports from the scene.

A SigAlert was issued at 5 p.m. due to the lane closures and ensuing miles-long traffic jam.

One of the parties in the crash suffered unspecified injuries but apparently declined hospital treatment.

No other injuries were reported.

CHP officers were expected to begin reopening lanes by 6 p.m.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
