A woman lost control of her SUV Sunday evening and went off a road and down a hill in Rancho Mission Viejo requiring rescue by Orange County Fire Authority firefighters.
The crash was reported at 8:30 p.m. in the area of Chiquita Canyon Drive and Los Patrones Parkway, according to the OCFA and the California Highway Patrol.
The black Ford Edge rolled 100-to-150 yards down the hillside, witnesses told the CHP.
Firefighters used a rope system to get the woman back to the road and once determined to be stable, she was taken by ambulance to a hospital, the OCFA reported.
The SUV was not immediately recoverable due to its distance from the roadway and the weather, the CHP said.
