Firefighters battled stubborn flames at a two-story home in Boyle Heights Tuesday for almost an hour before they contained and extinguished the fire.
The fire was reported at 2:10 a.m. and fire crews responded to 444 S. Boyle Ave. south of East Fourth Street where they used a number of offensive ground tactics to get control of the flames in the floors, walls, and attic of the vacant home, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.
It took 76 firefighters 54 minutes to contain and finally extinguish the fire, Prange said.
No injuries have been reported.
