Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass was scheduled to travel to New York City Saturday to attend the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative, which educates new mayors and senior city officials.
Bloomberg Center for Cities at Harvard University bills the initiative as its “flagship program” and “a collaboration between Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard Business School, and Bloomberg Philanthropies to equip mayors and senior city officials to tackle complex challenges in their cities and improve the quality of life of their residents.”
Bass’ office did not announce when she would return to Los Angeles.
The trip is Bass’ first out of California since July 2 when she went to New Orleans to be among four Black mayors participating in a roundtable discussion at the Essence Festival of Culture.
